Rob grew up on his family’s arable farm in Cavendish, Suffolk. After studying agriculture at Newcastle University, Rob completed an MSc in agricultural economics at Michigan State University. Five years of policy work in Washington DC followed, before returning to the UK as Advisor to the Director General at UKASTA, now AIC. After working as a regional adviser for the CLA, Rob joined the NFU East Anglia regional team as Environment Adviser in 2012.
Rob handles environmental issues including water quality, flood defence, climate change, renewables and agri-environment schemes on behalf of NFU members in East Anglia, as well as covering planning issues. Rob is a trustee of the Cambridgeshire Local Nature Partnership, a member of Fens for the Future, serves on the Flood Risk Management for the Fens Technical Steering Group and has been a member of and attends the Anglian Great Ouse Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
