Alan joined the National Trust in June 2022 as Countryside Manager of Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve. He is responsible for overseeing the management of the 830ha nature reserve, which includes one of the last remaining fragments of undrained fen, a SSSI, SAC, NNR and Ramsar designated site. ALan is working towards protecting and enhancing the biodiversity of the site, providing green access and connections to nature for visitors and undertaking peatland restoration to reduce greenhouse emissions. Prior to this role, Alan spent 9 years with the RSPB managing various nature reserves.
