Tuesday 22nd March saw our Fenland Farms Biodiversity Day, kindly hosted by the National Trust at Wicken Fen. Farmers from across the region joined us for a series of talks by conservation experts allowing us to learn about the history of biodiversity in the Fens, threats for the future and potential mitigation options. We explored a range of different approaches towards increasing biodiversity on farms or former agricultural land including case studies from the RSPB, G’s Cambs Farm Growers and WWT.
We look forward to hosting our summer evening farm walk and BBQ series at a series of different farms so that we can learn from others already doing work to improve on farm biodiversity. Keep an eye out for more information on further events coming soon!
