Shannon joined the Fenland SOIL team in September 2025 and has studied BSc Geography and MSc Environment and Planetary Health. During her studies she developed an interest in polar sea ice, climate change and sustainability and natural disasters. Shannon worked with multiple datasets from NASA, NOAA and NSIDC to analyse and evaluate how climate has affected polar sea ice since 1975 for her dissertation. Shannon then went on to complete a master’s degree where her thesis was to reconstruct a regional charcoal analysis in fire history from the Environmental Lakes Area in Canada with the influence from climate drivers.
Shannon aspires to understand more about how we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lead a more sustainable lifestyle. Shannon has joined as a project officer to assist with the PEF project.
Outside of work Shannon enjoys travelling, exploring the outdoors and Archery.
