Fenland SOIL Conference Tickets go on Sale!!!

We are really excited to announce that tickets for our upcoming ‘Exploring the Future of Lowland Agricultural Peat’ conference are now available to buy here! The conference will be held at The Maltings in Ely on the 28th and 29th of January. Tickets are limited, so be sure to secure your place early to avoid disappointment!

At last year’s inaugural conference (which scooped a mention in Tom Heap’s latest book, ‘Land Smart’), we ‘dug’ into the challenges associated with lowland agricultural peat with more than 220 delegates from over 100 organisations in attendance.  This conference will continue the narrative by discussing the solutions, covering opportunities available as well as potential barriers.

The conference will be centred around the following six themes:

1.) Future Scenarios and Climate in the Fens
2.) How do we change the way we manage water on Lowland Peat?
3.) We need to talk about regen – what does sustainable farming look like on lowland peat?
4.) Systems Thinking – An integrated approach to manage lowland agricultural peat landscapes
5.) Governance and stakeholder engagement on lowland agricultural peat
6.) Economics and Finance – how do we make sustainable farming viable?

We are also accepting abstracts for both oral and poster presentations on each of these themes. If you would be interested in presenting, please submit your abstract to the panel by emailing administration@fenlandsoil.org. The deadline for doing this is 8th November.
